The History Of Greenpower Mobility
Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Greenpower creates and manufactures, as well as distributes the entire range of heavy- and medium-duty electric vehicles. This includes transit buses, school buses as cargo buses as well as shuttles.
EV Star is a highly customizable zero-emission vehicle. It's fully FTA certified, Altoona tested and Buy America conforming. It comes with a world-class range and ADA wheelchair accessibility. It also has cargo delivery options.
EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company produces a complete line of high-floor and low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can accommodate many different bodies and upfits for a variety of applications. The platform's clean sheet design approach allows for optimal battery pack placement and a lower center of gravity, which results in higher payload to range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX is designed to meet the needs of mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated truck's class 4 configuration's one interior wall structure and higher insulation than traditional trucks enable seamless sanitation, improved temperature control, and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX has a higher capacity for cargo and a payload that is industry-leading to range for zero-emission freight or passenger transport.
GreenPower has joined forces with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system. This will allow fleets to seamlessly transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able of wireless charging of 75 kW.
We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on the local highway for a few hours and found it easy to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The EV9 can block road noise and wind while on the highway. It glides effortlessly over bumps and ruts. The car's acceleration is surprisingly quick, and it features adjustable regenerative brakes to enable "one-pedal driving" simply by releasing the accelerator.
The EV9 offers a great range and can be recharged in just three hours or less at home, or with any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two modes of operation that include eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode prioritizes torque and cruise control while the sport mode increases speed and handling. Both modes are enjoyable to drive, and offer an unforgettable experience for those who haven't been in a vehicle with an electrical system before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, including a multi-purpose all-electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, transit or microtransit vanpools, buses, and paratransit vehicles.
GreenPower produces around 10 EV Star busses a month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. my explanation is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric cars. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This means that they are eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Stay tuned when we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year. We will be sure to provide more information on this EV that is truly innovative!
